So, did you make it to the Opening Kick-off Party for the Venice Art Walk and Auctions last night at Laddie John Dill’s Studio? I heard it was great, but unfortunately, I couldn’t make it…

But, I am planning on attending some of the events next weekend, on the 17th and 18th, namely, the tour of new modern architecture homes. The ten homes they’ve selected look fantastic. I can’t wait!

Just in case you are not familiar with the Venice Art Walk and Auctions, it is an event that takes place every year to benefit the Venice Family Clinic, which is a thriving family practice clinic that, thanks to the proceeds of this great event, is able to offer free health care to those in need throughout the year.

Well, as you may or may not know, Venice is well-known for its very active and lively art community and this event really allows the whole community to shine. On Saturday the 17th, as I said above, you can pay to tour 10 beautiful new homes, 5 of which have terrific art collections for our viewing pleasure. Then on Sunday, you have the opportunity to visit at least 60 different artists’ studios, homes or special exhibits that they have set up. I’m sure they are going to be phenomenal! People are meeting at Westminister School to start the tours from there.

The Silent Auction then will take place on Sunday, allowing people to grab some serious art bargains. I’m hoping to make it over there myself and have a peek… I’ve included the link to the event above so you can check it out for yourself.

So, don’t miss it, I look forward to this event all year, it really is something to be proud of in the area.
