The Make-A-Wish Foundation Is For Everyone

Make-a-Wish Walk 2009What a great turnout for the 2nd Annual “Walk For Wishes” event that took place last weekend right here in LA!  It raised $235,000 for the Greater LA Make-A-Wish Foundation to help grant wishes for those children diagnosed with a life-threatening disease.

I love the Make-A-Wish Foundation and have been an active volunteer for many years right here in Santa Monica.  It’s true what they say about the benefits far exceeding anything you’ve ever experienced when you become a volunteer helping these children.

If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, please please let me know as we’re always looking for great people!

That’s it for this week!

Santa Monica Neighborhood Organizations

Neighborhood Organizations - Santa Monica

Do you live in Santa Monica and want to get something done in your neighborhood and are not sure where to turn or who to ask?

Most big cities have some form of neighborhood consortiums, associations or organizations and Santa Monica is certainly no different.

We currently have Santa Monica split into 5 different zones with tailored neighborhood organizations that organize and manage the ideas coming for the people locally involved.

They are:

These neighborhood groups give a “voice” to the smaller areas of our much larger Santa Monica as a whole, and allow individuals to meet their neighbors and contribute their thoughts to the local situations at hand.

You can contact any of the associations above through the links that I have provided if you want to get involved .

Good luck and tell them I sent you!!  :)

Have a great weekend,

Tracey

Eco-Friendly Sky Panels Brighten Santa Monica Homes and Offices

Sky Panels

Have you ever sat in a doctor’s office waiting room and stared at the walls?   Uh, yeah, I’m sure you have…

Yikes, these are typically not pleasant places to spend the hours that it usually takes to get done what you went there for…

However, the other day in Brentwood, I noticed that my dentist had covered the glaring fluorescent light above the chair with something he called a “Sky Panel” and I thought it looked great!

It was ingenius and I immediately thought of my clients selling their homes and the perceived increase in value of covering certain bathroom or dark closet ceiling lights with this very cool concept.

As you can see in the photo here, these cloud/sky images are printed directly onto an acrylic screen that is simply placed over the flat lighting on any ceiling.

It cuts the glare and really perks up the room!

And they won’t break the bank either, well it may if you get too carried away  :)

Each panel runs about $40 bucks, which isn’t too bad considering that they are guaranteed to last 20 years indoors and 10 years outdoors.

So, check them out and see if they can add some value to your home, whether you are selling it right now or not!

You can visit their website right here at USA Sky Panels

Enjoy your weekend,

Tracey
